Ferrari 250 TR/58 - Art Print

The 1958 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 26^th edition of this iconic endurance race. In this era, Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Porsche were evenly matched so the race drew crowds up to 150.000 spectators. Over 15 hours of the race were in the wet, resulting in thirteen crashes, one of which took the life of privateer Jean-Marie Brussin (Jaguar).

Scuderia Ferrari won first place in the #14 Ferrari 250 TR/58 (s/n 0728TR). This was the first ever overall win for an American and a Belgian driver and the third time Scuderia Ferrari won the endurance race.

Olivier Gendenbien and Phil Hill drove the winning Ferrari 250 TR/58. In the third hour of the race, the Testarossa was about to overtake the third placed Porsche 718 RSK Spyder (driven by Jean Behra and Hans Hermann) and the second placed Aston Martin DB3S (driven by Graham and Peter Whitehead.
