The Schumacher Signed Polaroids Collection is a unique photographic limited edition set of stunning giant Polaroids that salutes the seven time world champion like never before. The collection comprises of two Polaroids featuring the most successful Formula One driver of all time and his Ferrari F2002. Both photographs were taken on the world’s largest Polaroid camera, a museum piece that was brought into live again to photograph a selection of sporting heroes and iconic Single Seaters.
Together with a poster signed by Michael Schumacher at the Ferrari factory in 2002, they are now offered as one package. Limited to just 91 editions worldwide, each one resembles a Grand Prix win.
The Ferrari F2002
Designed by Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and Paolo Martinelli, the Ferrari F2002 won 15 Grand Prix race from a total of 17 entries. The photographed car currently belongs to the Ecclestone Heritage Grand Prix Collection and it was Bernie himself who granted access and permission to photograph the car.
Zenon Texeira photographed Michael at the 2006 British Grand Prix. He tells us:
“Michael walked into our make shift studio at Silverstone with the confidence of a multi-World Champion. He looked at the gallery of Polaroids drying on the wall that were so rich in tone and detail. The portrait I captured of Michael itself captured him ahead of the race in good spirits but still clearly focused on Sunday afternoon. As hoped, the allotted time that Michael spent with us increased as he returned to view the other Polaroids drying on the walls and inspect the giant six-foot-tall camera. We all knew how special it was to capture Michael on the day but for me, the opportunity to photograph a personal hero and a sporting icon on the camera was historically important and provided me with the greatest adrenaline rush.”
