Born from a collaboration between Sergio Scaglietti and Luigi Chinetti, the Ferrari 275 GTB/4S NART Spyder was a beautiful two-seater spider based on the 275 coupe. Chinetti, the North American Ferrari importer for many years, requested a successor to the 250 California Spider series. When new, the cars were sold for approximately $14,400.
The NART name-tag refers to Chinetti's North American Racing Team, which he founded in order to promote the Prancing Horse in the United States. Sadly, because of low sales, only 10 units were produced between 1967 and 1968, making the NART Spyder one of the rarest 275 models.
Chassis 10709, coincidentally delivered in Rosso Corsa, sold for a whopping $25 million at an RM Sotheby's auction in 2013. The owner purchased the car new in 1968 from Chinetti, and drove it until 2007.
