Ferrari 288 GTO by Anatole Bourne

€40

GTO. Those three letters cause goose bumps every time a Ferrari enthusiast hears them. GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato and means that it’s qualified to participate in various types of racing competitions.

Ferrari initially designed the 288 GTO to compete in the challenging Group B Rally Championship. The GTO was a homologation to the 308 and 328 Series. After several crashes, the FIA decided to cancel this competition because of its dangerous status in 1986. Ferrari revealed the GTO, a really good looking automobile, nicely shaped and of course in the famous Rosso Corsa, in 1984. Powered by a twin-turbo V8, the engine pushes out around 400 bhp and can reach a top speed of 288 kph (179 mph).
