New Ferrari alert: 8 big highlights from the Ferrari Amalfi

Ferrari has pulled the covers off the Amalfi, its next grand tourer and the official replacement for the Roma. Named after one of Italy’s most picturesque coastal regions, the Amalfi brings updated styling, a familiar V8 under the hood, and a design philosophy that blends modern minimalism with signature Ferrari flair.

1. Amalfi name honours Italy’s finest coastline

The name Amalfi is a tribute to the stunning Italian coastline, known for its winding roads, cliffside views, and La Dolce Vita. Ferrari has a rich tradition of naming its cars after beautiful Italian places, think Roma, Portofino and Modena. The Amalfi fits perfectly into that lineage.

2. Controversial Roma grille gets a redesign

Remember the all-colour perforated grille on the Ferrari Roma? Some loved it, others... well, not so much. For the Amalfi, Ferrari has moved on. The new front is sharper and layered: a black lower grille section, a body-colored shark nose, and a thin dark strip housing the sensors. The design pulls cues from the Ferrari Purosangue and Ferrari 12Cilindri.

3. Engine sees a modest power bump

Ferrari kept things familiar under the hood with the 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 carried over from the Roma. But engineers gave it a light power increase, now producing 640 horsepower, up from 620. It’s not a radical leap, but enough to give the Amalfi a slight performance edge. Bonus: they also shaved 1.3 kg off the engine block, because every gram counts.

4. Interior philosophy has completely changed

Ferrari ditched the interior concept introduced with the Roma, which had divided the cockpit into two distinct zones via a prominent center console. The Ferrari Amalfi now adopts the Ferrari 12Cilindri interior instead, featuring a horizontal central display and a more unified cabin. It’s cleaner, more modern, and arguably more comfortable for daily use.

5. New exterior colour: Verde Costiera

Ferrari wouldn’t dare introduce a new model without a fresh colour to go with it. The Amalfi debuts with Verde Costiera, or “Coastal Green.” It’s a soft, elegant blue-green shade inspired by the sea views and fresh landscapes of the Amalfi coast.

6. Physical engine start button is back

The Ferrari Amalfi sees the return of a physical engine start button, gone since models like the Roma and SF90 moved to haptic touch controls. This move reflects Ferrari’s growing responsiveness to customer feedback. Better yet, rumor has it that you’ll be able to retrofit this new steering wheel into other recent Ferrari models equipped with the haptic layout.

7. Rear wing and aerodynamics get sharper

The rear wing has been entirely rethought. While the Roma’s pop-up spoiler sat high and looked a bit awkward when deployed, the Ferrari Amalfi’s solution is both sleeker and more effective. It now resides on the upper rear deck and can adapt through three angles, delivering up to 110 kg (242 lbs) of downforce at 250 kph (155 mph).

8. Replaces the Ferrari Roma

The Amalfi is officially stepping in as the successor to the Ferrari Roma. With prices starting around $250,000 (before options, of course), it continues the Roma’s mission of attracting new buyers. Around 50% of Roma customers were first-time Ferrari owners. The first deliveries are expected in Q1 2026, so better get in line.
