1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe (0139E/0269EU)

1951 Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe 0139E

In 1951, the Ferrari 212 Inter Coupe by Vignale, chassis number 0139E, left the Maranello factory and was subsequently delivered to the Brussels-based Ferrari dealer, Comptoir Automobiles Richard SA. By 1953, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands had acquired this vehicle from Comptoir and was notably seen driving it at the Circuit Zandvoort on June 7 of that year.

Upon learning that a prince was driving a pre-owned Ferrari, Enzo Ferrari himself reached out to Prince Bernhard, inviting him to the Maranello factory. Accepting the invitation, Prince Bernhard drove to Italy in the 212 Inter Vignale (0139E) and exchanged it for a new model, the Ferrari 212 Inter by Pinin Farina (0269EU). Mysteriously, the newer car was re-stamped with the chassis number 0139E.
