A spectacular reveal in London

At the highly anticipated F1-25 event in London on February 18, 2025, all Formula 1 teams showcased their liveries for the upcoming season. Among them, Scuderia Ferrari HP unveiled its livery for the 2025 challenger: the Ferrari SF-25.

Standing alongside Team Principal Fred Vasseur, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton proudly presented the SF-25’s livery to an enthusiastic crowd at the O2 Arena. The event, broadcast live to fans worldwide, officially kicked off Ferrari’s 2025 campaign with two of the sport’s biggest names taking the stage together.

Important evolution

The Ferrari SF-25 is the 71st Formula 1 car designed by the legendary Italian team and the fourth of the second-generation ground-effect cars introduced in 2022. Staying true to Ferrari’s recent naming pattern, this car, however, brings a crucial technical shift: a move from pushrod to pull-rod front suspension. This is primarily aimed at optimizing aerodynamics and providing greater development potential.

Ferrari has built upon the strong foundation of last year’s contender, which saw them narrowly miss out on the Constructor’s Championship by just 14 points to McLaren-Mercedes. With stable regulations entering their final year, the field is expected to be incredibly close, where even the smallest margins could make the difference. Expect a season filled with thrilling battles on track!

Livery breakdown

Yes, it’s still Ferrari red, but with some striking updates. It would be a great shock should Ferrari change their iconic colours, like they did in the 1964 Formula 1 Season. The 2025 Racing Red is noticeably darker, featuring a matte finish that enhances its aggressive look. A bold, angled white band runs across the bodywork, prominently showcasing the team’s new title sponsor, HP.

Most sponsor logos now appear in white, a clear nod to Ferrari’s legendary past, reminiscent of the Schumacher and Lauda eras. The fully red wheel rims and white driver numbers complete the modern yet historic design, ensuring Ferrari’s latest F1 car remains instantly recognizable on the grid.

Lewis Hamilton’s arrival on stage was met with thunderous applause from the packed O2 Arena, his first public appearance as a Ferrari driver. Though he has already donned the famous red suit at a private test in Barcelona last month, this moment marked the official public start of his journey with the team.

Expressing his excitement, Hamilton said:

“I think the word I’m thinking of is invigorated. I feel so full of life, and so much energy because everything’s new. I’m just focused on what’s up ahead. I’m so proud to be a part of the team—something new and exciting for me.”

What’s next for the SF-25?

The SF-25 is set to hit the track for the first time on February 19, 2025, at Pista di Fiorano in a private shakedown session, covering up to 200 kilometers. The real test begins on February 26-28, when Ferrari joins the rest of the grid in Bahrain for pre-season testing.

Then, it’s lights out in Melbourne! The 2025 Formula 1 season officially kicks off on March 14 at the Australian Grand Prix, where Ferrari will look to make a strong statement right from the start.

One thing is certain: this season promises to be one for the ages!
